OFFICER AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
Commander
- Announced date of new officer installation for Post 38 on July 6th at 1300. All members are strongly encouraged to come and meet you 2025/2026 officers and wish them well.
Finance Officer
- This was Wayne Renner’s final report to the Post including detailed reports regarding the lounge and Sons. This information is available for review at the Post. For Post 38 our summary is as follows…
- $14,776.00 cash on hand. Detailed information is available on request.

Adjutant

- Both were motioned, seconded and voted unanimously into our Post.
- The JROTC ribbons and certificates purchased by post 38 will be presented on May 8 at 6 PM Oasis High School. Any Post 38 members are invited to attend.
- We must send into Department two documents by June 1 which show who will be officers for our post for the next year. Therefore I need to know now if we can fill any of the Vice positions and we MUST have a Finance Officer.
- Kevin Boyd has agreed to fill in as Finance Officer for the time being with Wayne Renner stepping down June first. He may be replaced after Installation.
- Our Installation of new base officers is tentatively scheduled for July 26th and 1300.
- A decision was made NOT to send any delegates to Convention.
NOTE:
- Reminder…. ALL PEOPLE WHO WILL BE FILLING A POST 38 OFFICER POSITION MUST HAVE THEIR 2026 DUES PAID BY THE TIME OF INSTALLATION ON JULY 6. PLEASE RENEW BY SEEING ME AND NOT ON LINE SINCE THERE IS A TIME LAG AND I CAN NOT CONFIRM YOUR STATUS.
This is the final meeting for me as your Adjutant and for Wayne Renner as the Finance Officer. I will be moving over to take on the Veteran Service Officer Position and Mike Matonis will be taking over as Adjutant. Kevin Boyd has volunteered to take on Finance for the time being.
Boys State
- Randy Eck reported that of the 6 people we had put forward to attend, 5 are going. They will meet here at 2100 hours on June 14th.
- Randy is giving each person 30 dollars out of his own pocket for spending money on the trip to the capital.
Veteran Service Officer
- We have one Veteran who has been granted 30% service connected.
- Helped on person obtain a flag for a deceased Veteran.

OLD BUSINESS
- Approve working with American Income, Mathew Frias. Adjutant will contact him after meeting (if approved to move forward).
- This was approved and a list of current members will be given to Mr. Frias next week. He will contact them.
NEW BUSINESS
- Place into our permanent records the turnover of the Nordhausen Concentration Camp Flag
- Member Chuck Stewart would like to have a discussion regarding the start of a Legion Riders chapter at Post 38.
- After a lengthy discussion it was tabled until at least 6 people wanting to join a Riders Chapter come forward or join our post.
